I'm trying to add x0vncserver to an old SUSE SLES 11 system. Anyone got
any experience mixing RPM's from OpenSUSE with SLES or anyone know where
I can find some .rpm's?

> cat /etc/SuSE-release
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 (x86_64)
VERSION = 11
PATCHLEVEL = 3

Yes, I know this thing should not be anywhere close to the internet..
it's behind multiple firewalls..

=============================================================== From: Dave Brockman via chugalug ------------------------------------------------------ You're about to open the door to a lot of pain... The SLES part is the kick in the nuts with this one. I know, it's in the corner, hasn't been rebooted in years, no one knows what it does, but all the LOB applications stop working if it's offline? --dtb

=============================================================== From: Michael Harrison via chugalug ------------------------------------------------------ Dave feels my pain. Deeply. Good news, it gets rebooted daily. (shutdown at night.. what's it's attached to uses a lot of Juice) There is that. I found via Zypper that it DOES have Xvnc installed, but configured badly, and firewalled off.. and.. and.. Dealing with it. But specifically it won't control/share the active desktop like x0vncerver will. F. F.F. Oh well. More importantly, it's made me re-realize that a serious benefit of FOSS and open Linux distros is the ability to maintain them. SuSE has done some impressive things, much beyond their music video's. ;) Not having public mirrors of old repo's I could trust is a pain. And in case you have not seen a SuSE music video, my favorite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DSYRlTISvjww e
